Asking this ONE Question Can Fix Your Bad Slide Deck.
Ever sat through a slide deck with what seems like 85 slides? Torture, right?
Here’s the thing: most presentations go wrong because the rep never stops to ask one simple question:
Am I here to educate or to persuade?
👉 If you’re here to educate — which usually happens AFTER a purchase, then: Yes, sometimes that means charts, data, and details. People need the info.
👉 If you’re here to persuade — which usually happens BEFORE a purchase, then: delete half your slides. Less is more. Get to the point and move them to action.
The problem is when reps try to tell the customer EVERY SINGLE THING about a company in an effort to persuade. The result? Information overload. A bored audience. And a message that gets lost in the noise.
Before you fire up your next deck, stop and ask: Am I educating or persuading? The truth is, you only need to give them just enough information to get them to the next step. They don’t need to know all 10 reasons why you’re great. They just need to know 2 or 3 that really matter to them. Anything beyond that is just boring.
Your audience will thank you.
